About the event

Over the 5 Thursday's in July, we will dive back into the world of drawing, one step at a time.
Wether you are new into sketching, or you are looking for a reason to get back into it, this supportive class is just for you!
With each week designed to focus on a different key element of drawing, come along and watch your how quickly these simple learnings transform your art into something a 'talented' artist made:
Week Objectives:
Week 1: Learning and Seeing
Slow down your observations, notice shapes, and remember how important angles and edges are in your work.
Week 2: Breaking Down Complex Objects
Identify proportions and use simple geometric shapes to make simplicity out of complexity.
Week 3: Using Light and Shadow
Values (light and dark) create the illusion of 3D shapes, and artists focus on light, not objects, to bring a piece to life.
Week 4: Aligning Perspective and Shape
Use objects and their relationships to each other to create depth.
Week 5: Using Observation, Composition and Personal Expression
Drawing is a skill that improves through practice. Talent actually has nothing to do with it.
PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES WITH YOU:
Paper/Sketchbook
Pencils
Eraser
Pencil Sharpener (if you have one)
Watch as your confidence transforms onto paper and you remember how to see and engage with the world in your own style.
